Chinese (traditional)- With his feathers he will shelter you,
and you will take refuge under his wings;
his faithfulness serves as a protective shield. - You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- Just as he came forth naked from his mother’s womb,
so shall he depart, naked as he came,
with nothing remaining from his labor
that he can carry away in his hands. - How great is your goodness, O Lord,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and which you bestow on those who take refuge in you,
in the presence of all the people. - Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your noble confession of faith in the presence of many witnesses.
- After this, he said to the crowd, “Take care to be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Life does not depend upon an abundance of one’s possessions.”
- I love you, O Lord, my strength,
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God is my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold. - So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough troubles of its own.
- As for you, my child, take strength from the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
- The way of God is blameless,
and the Lord’s promise proves true;
he is a shield to all
who flee to him for safety. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;
if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold.
My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established;
I have followed his way and never turned aside. - Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret. - The Lord is good,
an unfailing refuge in a time of distress.
He takes care of those who place their trust in him. - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - After he had decided to follow this course of action, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary into your home as your wife. For this child has been conceived in her womb through the Holy Spirit.”
- Therefore, put on the armor of God, so that you will be able to hold fast on the evil day and to hold your ground with all your strength.
- The Lord redeems the lives of those who serve him;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him. - So Christ, having been offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- Why do you take note of the splinter in your brother’s eye but do not notice the wooden plank in your own eye?
- The brother who is in modest circumstances should take pride in being raised up. Likewise, the one who is rich should glory in being brought low, for he will disappear like a flower of the field.
- Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
- Take heed to follow the commandments and the laws that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, and to walk in his ways and to observe his commandments, holding fast to him and serving him with all your heart and all your soul.
- The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
- I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place.
- You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
If you refuse to listen to me
and do not sincerely resolve
to give glory to my name,
says the Lord of hosts,
I will send a curse on you,
and I will turn your blessings into a curse.
Indeed, I have already done so
because you have not heeded my warning.For all have sinned and thereby are deprived of the glory of God, and all are justified by the gift of his grace that is given freely through the redemption in Christ Jesus. Do not let kindness and fidelity leave you;
fasten them around your neck
and inscribe them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will gain favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.Next verse!With image
