That (4/4)

  • Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
  • Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
  • For you need endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
  • I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself.
  • And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.
  • So that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.
  • Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
  • For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.
  • So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.
  • So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
  • There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death.
  • In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; God has made the one as well as the other, so that mortals may not find out anything that will come after them.
  • And the Lord will become king over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
  • For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.
  • This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
  • All who obey his commandments abide in him, and he abides in them. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit that he has given us.
  • For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, because a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant.
  • What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
  • But those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.
  • Seek good and not evil,
    that you may live;
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you,
    just as you have said.
  • I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.
  • From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
  • Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.
  • We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
  • Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time.
