- Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

- Now I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you be in agreement and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same purpose.
- Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal.
- There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death. - Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation.

- Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.
- Be still, and know that I am God!
I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth. - Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
- He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- For this is the message you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.
- Keep his statutes and his commandments, which I am commanding you today for your own well-being and that of your descendants after you, so that you may long remain in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for all time.
- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name. - Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name. - See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.
