- The integrity of the upright guides them,
but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them. - Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - The heart is deceitful above all things,

who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,

- Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith. - The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. - Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
- He will render to each one according to his works.
- So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
- It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice. - For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
