- Never let loyalty and kindness leave you!
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people,
and you will earn a good reputation. - “As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.”
- Honesty guides good people;
dishonesty destroys treacherous people. - Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
- What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them? - For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.
- People who conceal their sins will not prosper,
but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. - Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
- Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
- Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”
- But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
- Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
- And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
- When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
- Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
- Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. - The righteous person faces many troubles,
but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. - You who love the Lord, hate evil!
He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked. - Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
- And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
- But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
- Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
- Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
- They will never again be hungry or thirsty;
they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.
For the Lamb on the throne
will be their Shepherd.
He will lead them to springs of life-giving water.
And God will wipe every tear from their eyes. - Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!
Give to anyone who asks; and when things are taken away from you, don’t try to get them back.But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.” Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”Next verse!With image
