  • When they had pasture, they were filled;
    They were filled and their heart was exalted;
    Therefore they forgot Me.
  • Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
    And they divided His garments and cast lots.
  • Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
  • And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
  • But those who wait on the Lord
    Shall renew their strength;
    They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
    They shall run and not be weary,
    They shall walk and not faint.
  • For the customs of the peoples are futile;
    For one cuts a tree from the forest,
    The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
    They decorate it with silver and gold;
    They fasten it with nails and hammers
    So that it will not topple.
    They are upright, like a palm tree,
    And they cannot speak;
    They must be carried,
    Because they cannot go by themselves.
    Do not be afraid of them,
    For they cannot do evil,
    Nor can they do any good.
  • “Come now, and let us reason together,”
    Says the Lord,
    “Though your sins are like scarlet,
    They shall be as white as snow;
    Though they are red like crimson,
    They shall be as wool.”
  • Blessed are those who mourn,
    For they shall be comforted.
  • Blessed are the pure in heart,
    For they shall see God.
  • And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
  • And when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw Him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
  • Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.
  • And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
  • When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
  • Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers,
    For they shall be called sons of God.
  • Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
  • Two are better than one,
    Because they have a good reward for their labor.
  • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    For they shall be filled.
  • Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever,
    For they are the rejoicing of my heart.
  • Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?
  • So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
  • Without counsel, plans go awry,
    But in the multitude of counselors they are established.
  • The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
  • When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
  • Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
  • Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!
  • Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
  • And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.
  • Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
  • The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,
    And they go down into the inmost body.
  • Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
  • And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
  • Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
  • And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
  • But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
  • And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
    THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
  • Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.
  • And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
  • Blessed are you when men hate you,
    And when they exclude you,
    And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
    For the Son of Man’s sake.
  • Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
  • And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.
  • But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.”
  • As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
  • Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
  • “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts,
    “On the day that I make them My jewels.
    And I will spare them
    As a man spares his own son who serves him.”
  • My son, do not forget my law,
    But let your heart keep my commands;
    For length of days and long life
    And peace they will add to you.
  • Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
  • Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
    Because His compassions fail not.
    They are new every morning;
    Great is Your faithfulness.
  • For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing.
