| When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes? | When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes? |
| But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. | But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God. |
| Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. | Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace— in peace because they trust in you. |
| The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. | When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. |
| And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. | Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. | As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. |
| Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways. | Happy is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. |
| For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. | For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. |
