| As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. | This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him. |
| Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. | Be on your guard, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but may receive a full reward. |

| But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. | And whoever does not provide for relatives, and especially for family members, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |
| God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. | God gives the desolate a home to live in; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious live in a parched land. |
| Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. | Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. |

| So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. | And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. |
| For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. | Truly I tell you, if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and if you do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. |

| Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. | Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil, but those who counsel peace have joy. |
