| Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? | Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? |

| Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. | And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. |
| Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? | And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? |
| You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. | And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. |

| There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. | There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. |
| But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. | But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. |
| The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. | The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. |
| But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. | For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. | For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. |
