Up (2/4)

  • Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.
  • Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.
  • How great is Your goodness,
    Which You have stored up for those who fear You,
    Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You,
    Before the sons of mankind!
  • Because Your favor is better than life,
    My lips will praise You.
    So I will bless You as long as I live;
    I will lift up my hands in Your name.
  • Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning,
    For I trust in You;
    Teach me the way in which I should walk;
    For to You I lift up my soul.
  • And walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
  • He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?
  • I will raise my eyes to the mountains;
    From where will my help come?
    My help comes from the Lord,
    Who made heaven and earth.
  • Lord, You have searched me and known me.
    You know when I sit down and when I get up;
    You understand my thought from far away.
  • Now the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the Law and the commandments which I have written for their instruction.”
  • And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
  • And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one of them according to their deeds.
  • And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
  • But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.
  • Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and they will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on the third day He will be raised up.
  • Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
  • But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
  • Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.
  • Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.
  • The Lord bless you, and keep you;
    The Lord cause His face to shine on you,
    And be gracious to you;
    The Lord lift up His face to you,
    And give you peace.
  • The Lord makes poor and rich;
    He humbles, He also exalts.
  • Beyond question, great is the mystery of godliness:
    He who was revealed in the flesh,
    Was vindicated in the Spirit,
    Seen by angels,
    Proclaimed among the nations,
    Believed on in the world,
    Taken up in glory.
  • All things are permitted, but not all things are of benefit. All things are permitted, but not all things build people up.
  • Yet those who wait for the Lord
    Will gain new strength;
    They will mount up with wings like eagles,
    They will run and not get tired,
    They will walk and not become weary.
  • For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

But You, Lord, are a shield around me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
