- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds. - Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up your hand;
forget not the afflicted. - The vine dries up;
the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
from the children of man. - For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
- A soft answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
- When I thought, “My foot slips,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
- When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
- And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
- So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
- Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
- God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
he is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.
- Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
