- Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins. - Arise, O Lord!
O God, lift up Your hand!
Do not forget the humble. - He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds. - For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls,
For he has no one to help him up. - If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. - And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
- A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. - So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
- Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
- Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
- Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
- So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
- The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. - The Lord makes poor and makes rich;
He brings low and lifts up. - I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth. - He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
- To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
- Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. - But You, O Lord, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head. - And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
- Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
- And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
- But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”He who is slow to wrath has great understanding,
But he who is impulsive exalts folly. Whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.Next verse!With image
