- Hatred stirs up quarrels,
but love makes up for all offenses. - Arise, O Lord!
Punish the wicked, O God!
Do not ignore the helpless! - The grapevines have dried up,
and the fig trees have withered.
The pomegranate trees, palm trees, and apple trees—
all the fruit trees—have dried up.
And the people’s joy has dried up with them. - Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven.
- Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
- He heals the brokenhearted
and bandages their wounds. - After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.
- When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
- We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
- If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
- A gentle answer deflects anger,
but harsh words make tempers flare. - Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
- When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
- When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.
- So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
- Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
- Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
- I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth! - Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers!
- I cried out, “I am slipping!”
but your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me. - The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.
The Lord loves the godly. - Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
- The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
he brings some down and lifts others up. - Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.
- You light a lamp for me.
The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. May the Lord bless you
and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
and give you his peace.Next verse! With image
