And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 1 John 5:14	And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. trust prayer listening
Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:7-8	Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. sin salvation death

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 1 John 3:18	Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action. honesty truth speaking
He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5	He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. salvation Holy Spirit rebirth
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. Romans 8:18	I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. eternal life salvation suffering
We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Romans 15:2	Each of us must please our neighbor for the good purpose of building up the neighbor. selfishness encouragement neighbor
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16	Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. grace prayer mercy

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? Romans 8:35	Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? love suffering persecution
So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Galatians 5:1	For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Jesus life redeemer
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16	We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another. love Jesus neighbor
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 2 Corinthians 4:17	For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure. eternal life suffering encouragement
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23	Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. reliability hope acknowledging
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 1 John 4:9	God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. love Jesus life

Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 1 John 4:16	So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. trust love God
So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Hebrews 4:11	Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through such disobedience as theirs. sabbath obedience rest
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7	Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. love neighbor friendship
Until at last the Spirit is poured out on us from heaven. Then the wilderness will become a fertile field, and the fertile field will yield bountiful crops. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? Romans 6:3	Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Jesus baptism
