- What then should we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet, if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- Jesus answered them, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done.”

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. - Because no prophecy ever came by human will, but men and women moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
- Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you.
- For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
- For this purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

- But Jesus has now obtained a more excellent ministry, and to that degree he is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted through better promises.
- And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.
- You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish.
- When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. - And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families.
- Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.
- But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
- When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
- But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted, even more will be demanded.
- Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
- Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.
- Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
- So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
