Chinese (traditional)- Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
- The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
- What a person desires is unfailing love;
better to be poor than a liar. - The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many. - Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path. - He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord. - To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
- What is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them? - But test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
- But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
- Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
- I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
- What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!
- See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
- Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
- Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done. - Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
- Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
- In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me? - What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
