Why do bad things happen (3/4)

  • Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
  • Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
  • But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine.
  • Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
  • Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
  • These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
  • For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
  • But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
  • Let all your things be done with charity.
  • Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
  • Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
  • But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
  • And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
  • He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
  • Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
  • And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
  • For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
  • But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
  • I, even I, am he that comforteth you:
who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die,
and of the son of man which shall be made as grass.
  • Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
  • Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
  • And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
  • And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
  • But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
