- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’
- Why do you see the speck in your neighbor's eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye?
- And now why do you delay? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.
- Do not say, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? - “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
- While he was going and they were gazing up toward heaven, suddenly two men in white robes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
- I have made a covenant with my eyes;
how then could I look upon a virgin? - One sabbath he was going through the grainfields; and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. The Pharisees said to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need of food? He entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and he gave some to his companions.” Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.”
- For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, busy with this very thing.
- Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.
- When your eyes light upon it, it is gone;
for suddenly it takes wings to itself,
flying like an eagle toward heaven. - And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. - See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
- But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
- Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
- He answered, “Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
- If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.
Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.Who is this King of glory?

he is the King of glory. Selah And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.Next verse!With image
