Bible Verses about 'Work'

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”Jesus replied, “This is the work of God: to believe in the one whom he has sent.”
And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!May the favor of the Lord, our God, rest upon us. And may the work of our hands prosper— indeed, may the work of our hands prosper.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.I am confident of this: that the one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of complete rest, an official day for holy assembly. It is the Lord’s Sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live. For six days work can be done, but the seventh is a Sabbath of rest, a holy assembly. You will do no work on it; it is a Sabbath of the Lord in all of your dwellings.
And God blessed the seventh day and declared it holy, because it was the day when he rested from all his work of creation.God blessed the seventh day and he consecrated it, for on it he rested from all the work he had done when he created all things.
Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty!Diligent labor always yields profit, but idle conversation only leads to poverty.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.”On one occasion, while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set Barnabas and Saul apart for me to do the work to which I have called them.”
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. Therefore, my beloved brethren, stand firm and immovable, devoting yourselves completely to the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.Seek peace with everyone, as well as the holiness without which no one will ever see the Lord.
Unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done. And so does kindness, O Lord. You reward each person in accordance with his deeds.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. For the word of the Lord is true, and he is faithful in everything he does.
The Lord will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.The Lord will fulfill his plan for me. Your kindness, O Lord, endures forever; do not forsake the work of your hands.
Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave.Authority will be granted to the diligent, but the lazy will be enslaved.
Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your oxen and donkeys and other livestock, and any foreigners living among you. All your male and female servants must rest as you do.You shall observe the Sabbath by keeping it holy, as the Lord, your God, has commanded you. You are to labor on six days, doing all of your work then. The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, your God. You shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor your cattle, nor even the foreigner living in your town. Thus your manservant and maidservant can rest as well.
Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.Do not be lacking in zeal, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor.
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render.
Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath in honor of the Lord your God. You shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male slave, nor your female slave, nor your animals, nor the foreigner who dwells with you. The Lord made the heavens and the earth and the seas and that which is in them in six days, but he rested the seventh day. Thus, the Lord blessed the Sabbath and declared it to be sacred.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.Shun evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. And God is able to enrich you with an abundance of every grace, so that, with all of your needs provided for, you may be able to produce a surplus of good works.
I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.Behold, I am coming soon, and I will bring with me my reward to repay everyone as his deeds deserve.
He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is!He is a rock, his deeds are perfect, and all of his ways are just. He is a God of truth who does no wrong; he is just and upright.
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.As for me, I do not regard my life as of any value, only that I finish the race and complete the mission that I received from the Lord Jesus—to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.
