taken up in glory. - Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
- How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
- As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the lure of wealth choke the word, and it yields nothing.

- As for those who in the present age are rich, command them not to be haughty, or to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but rather on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
- For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being.
- Do not deceive yourselves. If you think that you are wise in this age, you should become fools so that you may become wise.
