Bible Verses about 'Wrong'

  • We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
  • And when he comes,
    he will prove the world wrong
    about sin and righteousness and judgment.
  • He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
    and all of his ways are just.
    He is a God of truth who does no wrong;
    he is just and upright.
  • Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
  • Plans miscarry when counsel is lacking,
    but they succeed when there are many counselors.
  • Because the sentence for committing an evil act is not carried out quickly, people’s hearts are prone to act wickedly.
  • If it seems wrong to you to serve the Lord, then today you must choose whom you will serve, whether it be the gods that your fathers served on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites who dwell in the land. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
  • As servants of God, behave as free people, but do not use your freedom as a means to cover up wrongdoing.
  • Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone.
  • However, if we confess our sins,
    he who is faithful and just
    will forgive our sins
    and cleanse us from all wrongdoing.
  • Wash yourselves and become clean;
    remove your evil deeds
    far from my sight.
    Cease to do evil.
  • Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing
    but rejoices in the truth.
    Love bears all things,
    believes all things,
    hopes all things,
    endures all things.
  • If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
  • Are you not aware that wrongdoers will never inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, extortioners, drunkards, slanderers, swindlers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • Welcome anyone whose faith is weak, but do not get into arguments about doubts.
  • All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in uprightness, so that the man of God may be proficient and equipped for good work of every kind.
  • While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
  • And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
  • If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
  • If your brother should sin, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. Even if he wrongs you seven times a day, and comes back to you seven times to say, ‘I am sorry,’ you must forgive him.
  • Let the wicked abandon their ways
    and those who are evil their thoughts.
    Let them return to the Lord
    so that he may have mercy upon them;
    and to our God,
    for he is rich in forgiveness.
  • The one who leads a blameless life
    and does what is right,
    who speaks the truth from the heart
    and does not slander anyone,
    who does not harm a friend
    and does not scorn a neighbor.
  • What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
  • Woe to anyone who rises up against his Maker,
    or to the pot that is displeased with the potter.
    Does the clay say to the one who molds it,
    “What are you doing?
    Your work makes no sense.”

But the one who did not know those wishes, and who acted in such a manner as to deserve a beating, will be beaten less severely. Much will be demanded of a person to whom much has been given, and even more will be asked of a person to whom more has been entrusted.

It is better to be a patient man rather than a warrior,
