- Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

- Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.
- Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
- Lord, don’t hold back your tender mercies from me.
Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me. - Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
- You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
- I will hurry, without delay,
to obey your commands. - But the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.”
- My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
- Riches won’t help on the day of judgment,
but right living can save you from death. - Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things.
- Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!
- And don’t let us yield to temptation,
but rescue us from the evil one. - So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
- For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
