- For not by their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm give them victory;
but your right hand, and your arm,
and the light of your countenance,

- If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
- And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.
- For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
- If you follow my statutes and keep my commandments and observe them faithfully, I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth. - Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives;
those who open wide their lips come to ruin. - If only they had such a mind as this, to fear me and to keep all my commandments always, so that it might go well with them and with their children forever!
- He sent out his word and healed them,
and delivered them from destruction.
