- But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
- He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord. - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
- Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. - Of how much more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
- We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
- Seek good, and not evil,
that you may live;
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you,
as you have said. - For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
- A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold. - Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me
on level ground! - And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
- Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
- To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down,
but a good word makes him glad. - Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
- But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
- For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.
