- The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
- For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke. - He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.
- So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
- And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
- The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- Seek the Lord while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near. - No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him. - Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.
- You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
- The Lord is close to all who call on him,
yes, to all who call on him in truth. - This is a trustworthy saying:
If we die with him,
we will also live with him. - All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).
- Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.
- But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
- Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”
- In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
- But the Lord will redeem those who serve him.
No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. - By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven.
And everyone will see him—
even those who pierced him.
And all the nations of the world
will mourn for him.
Yes! Amen! - For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
- If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!
- Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
- Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.
I want them to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. The grass withers and the flowers fade,
but the word of our God stands forever. Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.Next verse! With image
