Power of prayer (2/4)

  • Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
  • Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  • Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out:
    he is excellent in power, and in judgment,
    and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
  • Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
  • Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
  • Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
  • All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
  • So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
  • This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
  • Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
  • According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
  • For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
  • The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power,
    and will not at all acquit the wicked:
    the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm,
    and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
  • Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
  • Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
  • But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
  • But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
  • For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.
  • And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
  • Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
  • For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
  • My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
    in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
  • Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.
  • And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
  • But I will sing of thy power;
    yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
    for thou hast been my defence
    and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
