and make you wise. - Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. the flames will not consume you. - I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
- For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
- I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
- I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.
- But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
