- In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
your name and remembrance
are the desire of our soul. - And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
- For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield. - For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. - For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me. - If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
- Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.
- And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”
- For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
- We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.
- And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you.
- O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land
where there is no water. - You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.
- Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life. - Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me. - Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
- And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man
according to his work. - For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
- He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.
- Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.
- For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
- O Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
