- In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise. - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee. - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
- Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin is a reproach to any people. - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
- I acknowledge my sin unto thee,
and mine iniquity have I not hid.
I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord;
and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. - I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed. - But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:

but he that despiseth his ways shall die. - Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.
- And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
- To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
through my roaring all the day long. - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
- As far as the east is from the west,
so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. - And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
