Sin (3/6)

  • Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
  • In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
    but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
  • Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
    that I might not sin against thee.
  • But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
  • Righteousness exalteth a nation:
    but sin is a reproach to any people.
  • For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
  • For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
  • I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
  • But he was wounded for our transgressions,
    he was bruised for our iniquities:
    the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
    and with his stripes we are healed.
  • But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
  • Wash you, make you clean;
    put away the evil of your doings
    from before mine eyes;
    cease to do evil.
  • The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
    but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
  • Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
  • Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.
  • This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  • He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul;
    but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
  • And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
  • I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
    thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
    return unto me;
    for I have redeemed thee.
  • To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
  • Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
  • When I kept silence, my bones waxed old
    through my roaring all the day long.
  • Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
  • Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
  • As far as the east is from the west,
    so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
  • But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Bible verse of the day

Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
