Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. | Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings; Remember me according to Your faithfulness, For Your goodness’ sake, Lord. |
If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. | For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” | Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.” |
Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. | For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. |
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! | How blessed is he whose wrongdoing is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! |
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. | And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. |
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. | For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. | The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot. |
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. | Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. |
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. | Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. |
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. | The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law. |
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. | So it shall be when he becomes guilty of one of these things, that he shall confess that in which he has sinned. |
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? | What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? |
Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! | Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you. |
And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins. | For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember. |
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. | There is a way which seems right to a person, But its end is the way of death. |
But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. | The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. |
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. | But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. |
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. | Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. |
Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. | Now if a person sins and does any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was unaware, he is still guilty and shall bear his punishment. |
Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. | Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. |
But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. | But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. |
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. | He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. |
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. | We have sinned, we have done wrong, and acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. |
Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. | When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise. |
