- It is a faithful saying:
For if we be dead with him,
we shall also live with him. - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips;
I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. - My doctrine shall drop as the rain,
my speech shall distil as the dew,
as the small rain upon the tender herb,
and as the showers upon the grass. - And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
- Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
