- Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is counted wise.
When he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning. - He who is slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a quick temper displays folly. - For in much wisdom is much grief; and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
- Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
the man who gets understanding. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge,
but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - So you shall know wisdom to be to your soul.
If you have found it, then there will be a reward:
Your hope will not be cut off. - I have taught you in the way of wisdom.
I have led you in straight paths. - Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!
- One who walks with wise men grows wise,
but a companion of fools suffers harm. - Get wisdom.
Get understanding.
Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth. - The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.
All those who do his work have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.
- One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
- That their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ.
- Yahweh’s law is perfect, restoring the soul.
Yahweh’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad, even mine. - With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor,
but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge. - A fool vents all of his anger,
but a wise man brings himself under control. - A fool’s lips come into strife,
and his mouth invites beatings. - The father of the righteous has great joy.
Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. - A fool shows his annoyance the same day,
but one who overlooks an insult is prudent. - Turn at my reproof.
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you.
I will make known my words to you. - Many will purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined, but the wicked will do wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
- A fool despises his father’s correction,
but he who heeds reproof shows prudence.
A wise son makes a glad father;
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.Next verse! With image
