Chinese (traditional)Loyalty makes a person attractive.
It is better to be poor than dishonest. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. Joyful are those who obey his laws
and search for him with all their hearts. Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial. Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin. Gentle words are a tree of life;
a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. Search for the Lord and for his strength;
continually seek him. A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord! You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good. Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and my God! Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom;
humility precedes honor. Your laws are my treasure;
they are my heart’s delight. Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.Next verse!With image
