Chinese (traditional)Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has long ago approved what you do. For
“Those who desire life
and desire to see good days,
let them keep their tongues from evil
and their lips from speaking deceit;
let them turn away from evil and do good;
let them seek peace and pursue it.” Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. My child, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles,
so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. Fools show their anger at once,
but the prudent ignore an insult. For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost. Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. To get wisdom is to love oneself;
to keep understanding is to prosper. I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. I cried aloud to him,
and he was extolled with my tongue. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday. And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’ And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job when he had prayed for his friends; and the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live; moreover, it is God's gift that all should eat and drink and take pleasure in all their toil. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ —by grace you have been saved—. Teach me to do your will,
for you are my God.
Let your good spirit lead me
on a level path. But he answered, “It is written,
‘One does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. The human mind may devise many plans,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established. From there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul. When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf. Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.” Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but not for God; for God all things are possible.”Next verse!With image
