Chinese (traditional)Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” We love Him because He first loved us. Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
For riches certainly make themselves wings;
They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble. But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” O Lord, You are my God.
I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
For You have done wonderful things;
Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. A man who has friends must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil. You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. A soft answer turns away wrath,
But a harsh word stirs up anger. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?Next verse!With image
