Chinese (traditional)Do not swerve either to the right or to the left;
keep your foot far from evil. This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Godliness produces great gain, but only to those who are content. Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. For a child has been born to us,
a son has been given to us.
Upon his shoulders dominion rests,
and this is the name he has been given:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the child to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.” However, if we live in the light
as he himself is in the light,
then we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus his Son
purifies us from all sin. Restore us, O Lord of hosts;
let your face shine upon us,
and we will be saved. In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. Let those who are wise understand these words,
and let the prudent acknowledge them.
For straight are the ways of the Lord;
the upright walk in them,
but sinners stumble. I will make haste and not delay
to observe your precepts. In my Father’s house
there are many dwelling places.
If there were not,
would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place for you? Do not assert that the past was better than the present,
for such a statement is not a sign of wisdom. How wonderful and delightful it is
for brothers to live together in unity. While Peter was thus imprisoned, the Church prayed fervently to God for him. He continued, “Then put away the foreign gods from among you. Bend your heart to the Lord, the God of Israel.” A perverse man sows strife,
and a tale-bearer destroys close friendships. Therefore, you must also be prepared, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Do not associate with unbelievers. For what basis can there be for a partnership between righteousness and lawlessness? What do light and darkness have in common? In my distress I called out to the Lord;
he answered by setting me free. Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ Go and learn what this text means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I have come to call not the righteous but sinners. Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth,
and cease even to think about it. If anyone is rich in worldly possessions
and sees a brother in need
but refuses to open his heart,
how can the love of God abide in him? Instruct those who are rich in this world’s goods that they should not be proud, nor should they trust in the uncertainty of riches but rather in God who richly provides us with everything we need for our enjoyment. I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have life. Therefore, strive to be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect. Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good. Seek the Lord and his strength,
seek his face continually. Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.Next verse!With image
