He only is my rock and my salvation;
he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
to loose the bands of wickedness,
to undo the heavy burdens,
and to let the oppressed go free,
and that ye break every yoke? Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee;
and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him. And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and that seek him with the whole heart. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul:
he that keepeth understanding shall find good. And rend your heart,
and not your garments,
and turn unto the Lord your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Seek the Lord, and his strength:
seek his face evermore. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous:
he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Truly my soul waiteth upon God:
from him cometh my salvation. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good;
for his mercy endureth for ever. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.Next verse!With image
