- Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
we should love one another. - I am the Lord, your God,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
You know no God but me,
nor any savior other than me. - Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - I will, thereby, display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known to many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
- But do not ignore this one fact, beloved: with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day.
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- Let everyone submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which derives from God, and whatever authorities exist have been instituted by God.
- The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
the world and all who live in it. - And God said, “Let us make man in our image and likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the wild animals and reptiles that crawl upon the earth.”
- For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? - I will rejoice and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. - Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever he pleases. - He reveals deep and hidden mysteries
and knows what lies in the darkness,
for light dwells with him. - Adulterers! Do you not know that love of the world results in enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- But the Almighty we cannot find;
he is unequaled in power and judgment,
and in his righteousness he will not violate justice. - For to you a thousand years
are like a yesterday that has passed
or one of the watches of the night. - He builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and establishes his vault of the sky over the earth—
the Lord is his name. - And I heard a loud voice proclaim from the throne:
“Behold, God’s dwelling is with mankind;
he will dwell with them.
They will be his people,
and he will be their God,
God-with-them.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes,
and there will no longer be death.
Neither will there be any mourning or crying or pain,
for the old order has passed away.” - I intend to prove the holiness of my great name which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. Thus, the nations will know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I will display my holiness in their sight.
- And a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
- This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- And ‘to love him with all your heart, and with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself,’ is worth more than any burnt offerings and sacrifices.
