God (3/5)

  • While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud cast a shadow over them. Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
  • Finally, find your strength in the Lord and in his mighty power.
  • You intended to do evil to me, but God decided to make it serve a good, to fulfill that which today has come true: to keep alive a numerous people.
  • And every tongue should proclaim
to the glory of God the Father:
    Jesus Christ is Lord.
  • Be still and acknowledge that I am God,
    exalted among the nations,
    exalted on the earth.
  • Before the mountains were brought forth
or the earth and the world came into existence,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
  • But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those who trust in his kindness.
  • And eternal life is this:
    to know you,
    the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
    Jesus Christ.
  • This is how we can be certain
    that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit.
  • May God continue to bless us
and be revered to the ends of the earth.
  • Who has performed these deeds and accomplished this?
Who has summoned the nations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am the first,
and I will be there with the last.
  • All those who keep his commandments abide in him,
    and he abides in them.
And the proof that he abides in us
is the Spirit that he has given us.
  • Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how unfathomable his ways!
  • The powerful suffer want and go hungry,
but those who seek the Lord want for no good thing.
  • You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord.
  • Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.”
  • The Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God.
  • As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
  • But you, O Lord, reign forever;
your throne endures from age to age.
  • What then can we say in response to all this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
  • Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth?
  • God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it?
  • No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.
  • Beloved,
since God loved us so much,
    we should love one another.
  • God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God.
