- Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
- I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws. - For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
- Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many. - Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!

but it is the ruin of those who do evil. - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

as one rejoices in great riches. - Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time.

To him belongs eternal praise. - But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.

for I have sought out your precepts. - For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
- A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
- He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.
- If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
- Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.
