- Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
- He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
- For thus says the High and Lofty One
Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
With him who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble,
And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” - Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
And the years of your life will be many. - As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
- For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:
“Seek Me and live.” - Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name. - And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.
- The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned. - The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein. - But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
- Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all. - For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
- All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
- Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
- Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord! - For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
- Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.
- As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
- For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
- For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.
- For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
- Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith. - For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.
