Bible Verses about Patience

Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful.Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

And rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster. And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
