- But for you who fear my name
the sun of justice will arise
with its healing rays.
You will emerge leaping
like calves released from the stall. - I do not set aside the grace of God, for if justification comes through the Law, then Christ died for nothing.
- For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
- The righteous is remembered with blessings,
but the name of the wicked fades away. - My soul longs for you throughout the night,
and my spirit within me seeks your presence.
For when your judgments are revealed to the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice. - Nor should you present any part of your body as an instrument for wickedness leading to sin. Rather, present yourselves to God as having been raised from death to life and the parts of your body to God as instruments for righteousness.
- Come to your senses and sin no more. For some of you have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - The one who provides seed for sowing and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
- Everyone who sins breaks the law,
for sin is lawlessness. - I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom
and led you along the paths of righteousness. - The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;
if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold.
My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established;
I have followed his way and never turned aside. - The tongue of the just man is like pure silver;
the heart of the wicked is without worth. - The wicked man borrows but neglects to repay,
whereas the righteous man is generous in giving. - Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze on what lies before you. - I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live!
- There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save or to destroy. Who then are you to pass judgment on a neighbor?
- The hope of the righteous brings them joy,
but the expectations of the wicked are frustrated. - Therefore, now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
praise and exalt and glorify
the King of heaven.
For all of his works are right,
and all of his ways are just.
Also, he is able to humble
all those who follow the path of pride. - As we proceed in the path of your judgments,
we wait for you, O Lord;
your name and your renown
are all that our heart desires. - Not because of any righteous deeds on our part
but because of his mercy,
he saved us through the bath of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit. - I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Now waiting for me is the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who have eagerly longed for his appearance.
- For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. - If we are diligent in observing all of these commandments before the Lord, our God, as he commanded of us, then this will be our righteousness.
