- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. - Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way. - Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. - I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths. - Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
- We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
- Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
The heart of the wicked is worth little. - Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law of the Lord! - Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith. - For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
- But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot has held fast to His steps;
I have kept His way and not turned aside. - Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
- The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish. - He is the Rock, His work is perfect;
For all His ways are justice,
A God of truth and without injustice;
Righteous and upright is He. - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
- And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
- Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
- The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot. - He guards the paths of justice,
And preserves the way of His saints. - “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”
- If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.
- All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.
- Let your eyes look straight ahead,
And your eyelids look right before you. - For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
