- Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
But righteousness delivers from death. - Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.
- As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him;
He is excellent in power,
In judgment and abundant justice;
He does not oppress. - You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
- There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
- All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.
- The wicked borrows and does not repay,
But the righteous shows mercy and gives. - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
- The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous. - Do not turn to the right or the left;
Remove your foot from evil. - Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the Lord,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon. - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation,
Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey. - Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.
- And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
- Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth,
Who have upheld His justice.
Seek righteousness, seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
In the day of the Lord’s anger. - Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
