- Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice. - So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!
- We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
- My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed. - And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.
- Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
