2 Corinthians (2/4)

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. But because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit.
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
