  • Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
  • And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
  • So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?

  • Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
  • He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.
  • So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. • Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
  • But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
  • Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
  • Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
  • So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
  • Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!
  • You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
  • But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
    you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
  • I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.
