Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done.

mortals that you care for them? - You are a hiding place for me;

The blessing of the wretched came upon me,
and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. - So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

- But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
- I shall walk at liberty,
for I have sought your precepts. - But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
- So we fasted and petitioned our God for this, and he listened to our entreaty.
- I will make them and the region around my hill a blessing; and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing.
- Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
- Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- While I kept silence, my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long. - Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute
in the sight of God and of people.
