- Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
- Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

- The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;

- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
- For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
- Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
- And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

What I have vowed I will make good.
I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’ - Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
- When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
- Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid. - If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
- Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
- Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
- Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

- You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
